Graffiti : Bourges Boulevard / Taverners Road roundabout, 21st January 2015 (please see map below) This metal utility cabinet is situated on the roundabout junction of Taverners Road with Bourges Boulevard. As with virtually all such pieces of street furniture, there is nothing on it to indicate who is responsible for its maintenance or upkeep. As the cabinet-door is ajar, it could well be that it has been abandoned by whichever company formerly made use of it. (A further example of such an apparently abandoned cabinet is that located at the slip-road entrance to Nene Parkway on Oundle Road --- please see photo below.) If it were intended that members of the public were to directly report graffiti to those responsible, then every cabinet would require an appropriate label giving contact details. Alternatively, the records detailing who has ownership of every piece of street furniture would need to be made available and easily accessible by the general public. However, the only cabinets which presently carry any form of identification appear to be those associated with traffic lights. Since these are also covered in un-removed graffiti which has been there for a considerable time, (please see the two photographic examples given below), such labelling would appear to have little or no practical effect ! It is demonstrably not viable to assume that members of the general public can effectively serve as graffiti reporters.
